Maxine Nightingale is a Grammy nominated artist whose records have garnered both platinum and gold records awards. Her first record Right Back Where We Started From reached #1 in the US as well as topping the charts in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and England.
Her next major US hit was the timeless ballad, Lead Me On, from her album of the same name, which reached number 4 on the charts and number 11 in Billboard’s “All Time Greatest” Adult Contemporary Chart for songs released throughout the 20th Century.
She has recorded eight albums and toured the world extensively. In 2003 she starred with Nile Rogers and the group Chic at the world famous Hollywood Bowl and she appeared with him at the legendary Studio 54. Last year found her performing at New York’s Lincoln Center.
She’s toured with some of the best in the world, including Issac Hayes, Chick Corea, the late Marvin Gaye, Boz Scaggs, Average White Band and Teddy Pendergrass, to name but a few. Additionally, she won the prestigious Tokyo Music Festival’s Best Vocalist Award.
Currently she appears in the PBS music special “My Music”, along side Patti LaBelle, The Commodores, Heat Wave and more. Her song, Right Back, has appeared in numerous feature films including Slap Shot; Yours, Mine and Ours; Starkey and Hutch and most recently Family Stone.
At present, Maxine is traveling across the continent regularly to perform her 70’s hits in retro concerts and disco formats (including numerous private and corporate events) as well as performing in contemporary jazz and pop settings.
