Pride for Youth welcomes volunteers to join our efforts to improve the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth.
Youth (under 21) can volunteer or work with us through the programs described on our Youth Leadership Opportunities page.
Adults who are interested in working directly with young people will receive training through Long Island Crisis Center’s centralized volunteer
training program. After three months of volunteering at the Crisis Center,
volunteers may request to be considered for work at Pride for Youth’s
Coffeehouse program.
Pride for Youth operates an Advisory Board for community members interested in furthering our mission through good public relations and fundraising. For more information about the Advisory board, contact Andy Peters, AJPeters@longislandcrisiscenter.org or (516) 679-9000, ext. 126.
Pride for Youth offers internship opportunities for masters and bachelors of social work students and in some instances other types of graduate-level programs. Students gain experience in a broad range of practice areas such as individual, group and family counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy, and community organizing. Inquiries concerning internships should be directed to Pete Carney, PCarney@longislandcrisiscenter.org or (516) 679-9000, ext. 125.
