Self-Empowerment Girls GroupG

Groups are held weekly at Westbury Middle School and Roosevelt New Horizon Alternative Program. Subjects covered include: anger management, self-esteem, life skills, gang awareness, and values and ethics.



The young women's group at Westbury Middle School, led by Street Outreach Project coordinator Erika Anthony, is about helping girls understand that there are positive alternatives to gang life and better roles for young women than many of those learned through popular culture.
